Weed Wacker on final approach
Weed Wacker characteristics
The Weed Wacker flies about like a trainer; because it is so big, it handles very smoothly.
On takeoff, it tracks very straight down the runway with its over-sized landing gear.
In flight, the elevator control is smooth and fairly powerful; the ailerons are responsive but the roll rate is only about 90deg./sec.
Stalls are not at all violent; there is no tendency to tip-stall and it would be hard to spin.
Aerobatics take a lot of altitude and are sluggish; but, most of the basic maneuvers can be performed without too much trouble.
The best-looking maneuver that this plane will do is a steep, turning, jungle-style climbout.
Slow flight is very stable and the glide ratio is excellent.
Landing is very easy; all you have to do is line the Wacker up with the runway and chop the power. The elevator remains responsive and smooth until touchdown, which can be a very tail-low attitude.
